African Secrets Limited driver/ guide will pick you from your hotel at 7:30am to depart from Kampala driving West, with a stopover at the equator, through volcanic formations of the western Rift Valley towards Queen Elizabeth National Park. Quite simply this fertile equatorial area is especially scenic, with two lakes connected by a channel overlooked by a high peninsula. You will also find volcanic craters, grassy plains and tropical forest. As a result it has one of the highest biodiversity ratings in the world. Early morning make your entry into Kyambura Gorge for a thrilling Chimpanzee safari. The rain forest is spectacular and offers dramatic steeply forested landscape and is incredibly dense with numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. Your guided walk in search of the chimps and other primates, may last several hours. After tracking, return to your lodge to relax as you wait for lunch. In the afternoon, you will be taken to the pier at the Kazinga channel for a launch cruise along the Kazinga channel.
A popular tour in this park is the boat trip up this channel where one can spot thousands of hippos, birds and other river wildlife. A boat trip along the channel provides a memorable method of game viewing. Return to your lodge for dinner and over night.
You will be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable National park through the Ishasha sector. A game drive through this southern sector of Queen Elizabeth is famous for tree climbing Lion encounters. You will have a picnic Lunch in the Wilderness and then after transfer to Bwindi national park. Dinner and overnight at Engagi Lodge/Gorilla Resort, Buhoma Homestead/ L. Kitandara Tented camp/ Buhoma Community Bandas.
Transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before you move along the park trails tracking the gorillas. After the briefing from the authorities of the park, set off for the trekking into the rain tropical forest covering the hills surrounding Virunga Volcanoes. In the afternoon relax at the camp or if you have the energy, go for a guided village walk to visit the Local Batwa Community returning to the Camp in the evening.
After breakfast, you will transfer to either Kisoro or Kabale .Cross the border then you will be driven to Kinigi. On arrival, you will visit the Dianne fossey Tombs before dinner and overnight at Mt Gorilla nest lodge/ Kinigi guest House / Muhavura lodge.
After breakfast, take a short drive to Park Headquarters and meet with excellent local guides and trackers who will give a talk on the etiquette of gorilla trekking.
